Anyway, not much has gone on in the past few weeks. Brinlee is smiling all the time now and is starting to laugh a little bit (especially in her sleep). She is such a happy baby!! Makes my heart melt :) She is so much fun to be around, and I just love watching her learn every day. It's amazing how much she changes from day to day. She has started to discover her hands, but hasn't quite figured them out yet. She will be sitting there and then all of the sudden she will completely zone in on her hands and concentrate so hard. You can almost see her little brain saying "What in the world are you and where did you come from?". And then she gets interested in something else and forgets about them! It's hilarious!
Brinlee has also started sucking on my shirt or her hand when she's tired. She fights her paci a lot more now (which is totally okay!), and from what I've read on some websites, her sucking on things is her way of discovering the world around her right now. She's also drooling a lot, so my shirt, her blanket or her clothes are constantly wet! I've started keeping a bib on her to try and catch some of it, but stupid me, I don't always remember and then when I do, she's slobbered all over everything!
In the past week or so, Brinlee has really become a mama's girl. I don't know why, because Jared can always calm her down and she loves being with him! But lately, she has to be near me or in my arms. And for some reason, she's started not napping again, or just taking cat naps. Poor thing will absolutely exhaust herself and then it's a battle to get her to go down at night. I've figured out how to get her to calm down pretty quickly, but it's not pretty in the process! There's a lot of crying and screaming....one day she'll figure out naps are a good thing!
We traveled to College Station for Thanksgiving, and prepared ourselves for the worst with her. She normally does pretty good in the car, but we weren't sure how she would do with a 2.5-3 hour drive. We got a much later start than we had hoped (wanted to leave at 3 and left at 5). We made sure to feed and change her right before we walked out the door, just in case. We must've done something right because she slept the entire way!! She did pretty good for the most part while we were there, and then slept the whole way back! She's such a trooper :)
Other than that, not much else is going on! Here's some pictures that I've taken recently. These are from my phone, and I'll upload the ones from my camera soon! Enjoy :) (sorry these are all sideways....I can't figure out how to turn them!)
Look who's in her Bumbo!
Play time!! She loves the duck and makes the rattle go non-stop!
Best. Picture. Ever.
This is what I get every time I get her from a nap. I just love this girl!
A&M / t.u. tailgate. It was cold!
B and Daddy napping while watching the Aggies
How cute is this?!?
Sweetest face :)
Nothing like a little vacuuming to knock her out!
Tummy time!! She's normally one unhappy camper...
